Hung Seng Shipbuilding (HSS), is located in Sibu in the state of Sarawak, East Malaysia. The shipyard was founded in 1994 and now is a leading shipbuilding company with more than 150 workers, including administrative and supervisors, qualified welders, consultants and production workers. The yard disposes 7 acres of land and is located next to Sarawak longest river. HSS can at these premises construct vessels up to 80m with maxmum draft up to 5m. A new yard location of 10 acres where larger vessels with the size up to 90m with maximum draft of 8m can be constructed has now been obtained and is being developed to expand our capabilities.
HSS uses 3D AutoCad in the production design process and also utilize modern machinery park with CNC plasma cutting machine and welding using arc, TIG and MIG. This enables HSS to reduce planning and construction time as well as ensuring consistent quality. HSS is now in the process of obtaining more high-end technology and skills within design, project planning, construction and progress tracking that will be beneficial to our future clients. Machinery and outfitting is done using internationally renowned equipment and with the assistance from the manufacturers agents.
